Digicademy Contributing to The Restoration of Humanity

Digicademy exists because humanity exists. We are dedicated to contributing to the restoration of humanity by encouraging every human being to be aware of their own personal freedom from within and then to exercise that freedom in South Africa and throughout the world.

I personally have witnessed a decline in human values and a genuine respect for each other. Through our casual and strategic business discussions, I know my partners at Digicademy have experienced this decline too. It is through our deep commitment to and belief in ubuntu 1, that we know the hope we feel and the goodness we see within ourselves, exists in others. We are here to serve our community, but most importantly to learn from our community, and together create a future for the greater good of humanity.

It is through our individual wholeness and self-awareness of our role within Digicademy that we have come together to make an impact in South Africa, Africa, and the World by providing a platform for true transformation. We aim to uplift humanity through education on our cooperative journey of exploration and discovery with learners and educators.

Here are five tips from some of our Digicademy partners that you can implement into your daily lives to help you feel more connected to humanity and to share a sense of wholeness with your community:

  • Do a Little More Each Day

Billy Sehume, the co-founder of Digicademy, is certified in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and has completed the Comrades Marathon 5 times! He believes ‘one size does not fit all’ and prides himself in helping to establish Digicademy as a flexible and adaptable way of spreading knowledge.

Billy believes in the Mantra “If you add a little to a little and do this often, soon the little becomes Great.” We all get overwhelmed with challenges we face, but he suggests that just doing a little each day builds confidence, and our goals develop into something great- just by overcoming each small hurdle or achieving a daunting goal.

  • Blessed to be a Blessing

Tsholo Sehume, co- founder of Digicademy, has a vision that when we do what we love, we not only become a blessing, but we are able to bless many others. We achieve this by finding our purpose or passion in life, and, more often than not, it stems from empowering or uplifting others. Through living and serving this purpose, work does not become a job, it is a blessing to you and all those whom you impact. Many great teachers have said to look at your childhood to find what made you the happiest. This is usually aligned with your purpose. Discover it, live it, share it, and feel how wonderful it is to be able to bless many.

  • Be the Change

Many wise sages of our times have taught this, and WarriorRic is a true believer that it always starts with ‘me’.

WarriorRic is our resident motivational speaker and facilitator on brain hacks and building your own personal brand through positive and transformative energy.

Becoming the change, is pivotal to our ability to reform humanity. So, whatever it is you might find yourself complaining about or not happy about, try to do something about it. When we start changing our own thinking towards the situation, the situation itself starts to transform. The simplest way to be the change, is to change your thinking.

  • Appreciate Similarities and Accept Differences

StraightTalkWithNolan, our Transformational Coach and Speaker passionately believes that to bridge the gap between different races, religions, genders, cultures etc. is to talk and engage with those who are different from ourselves. Through these conversations with each other we begin to understand each other better. We can then accept our differences allowing us to become more tolerant of who we are as individuals. We can also then appreciate our similarities and use it to add value to our societies in meaningful ways.

  • Create Safety Within your Own Body

Namita, our Tension and Trauma Release Exercise (TRE®) Provider and Sport Scientist, suggests that by creating safety within our body, we are then able to connect with others in more meaningful ways, and establish healthier relationships with colleagues, friends, and family.

Taking control of our breathing is an easy and effective way to do this. As soon as you feel that stress is becoming too much and you want to react to it, start by taking deep belly breaths. Breathe in for a count of two and breathe out for a count of four.  These deep breaths activate the parasympathetic nervous system that allows your body to enter a rest state where you are able to socially engage.

It truly does start with each of us, to make a difference in this world. If we cannot find comfort within ourselves and love for ourselves, we cannot show compassion, sympathy, or generosity to others.

“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” – Nelson Mandela

This give me so much of hope, and we at Digicademy are filled with hope, but also action. We are also willing and ready to learn, unlearn and relearn, so we can co-create a society worth celebrating!

1 Ubuntu definition: a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity – Oxford Dictionary.
